The new Jumanji movie has many similar traits to it's more mature senior from 1995, although there are a lot of major differences, you can definitely see the similarities in their plots and structuring. The structuring of both movies seem to have more differences than similarities, for example, their climax of the problem at hand tended to be in different points. The new Jumanji's arise of the problem came forward quicker and was to the point, unlike the original of the two where it came about slowly and took time to process and sink in. The conclusions of both of them seemed to differ in many ways, with the ending of the original Jumanji having a more somber ending with few happier parts, comparing that to the more light hearted conclusion of the new Jumanji. Their plots, having the same main idea, varied a bit in some small and some major differences. Small differences include mostly the setting of time and the spacing of time, the challenges each of the characters became spread out in the original Jumanji unlike the new version where the challenges were articulately spaced out evenly. Some of the major differences were the characters, instead of having 4 main characters throughout the movie in original Jumanji, there were five. Adding a new player had caused the plot to change a bit more from the previous plot and made more differences prominent. The challenges in the original Jumanji movie had been more specific to each character, unlike in the recent version, where the group focused as a team to complete each challenge. The main goal was mostly similar though, along with a few other small details. Another small difference i found was in the new Jumanji movie where there had been more prominent comedy in it, unlike the original movie where the comedy was thought out and subtle. Many things have played a part in making each movie how they are today and each one is unique in their own way.
